Choose a task before choosing a tool
Start with a recurring piece of work that is clearly defined and takes disproportionate time. Summarising campaign observations, organising approved assets or preparing draft variations can be sensible candidates. Write down the input, desired output and what a good result looks like before considering the technology.
The first question is operational: what will improve for the team or customer? Producing more material is not automatically progress. Faster work matters when it frees attention for the brief, the offer, the creative idea or the decision that follows.
Separate assistance, automation and agency
An assistant helps someone complete a task. A conventional automation follows specified triggers and rules. We use agentic to describe a system that can choose intermediate steps and use tools towards a goal. These distinctions are useful because the amount of freedom changes what needs to be checked.
A location sign-up being assigned to a segment can be straightforward automation. An agent deciding which audience needs a different campaign involves more judgement. Do not make a process more autonomous merely to give it an AI label. Use the simplest dependable approach that solves the problem.
Give the system a brand it can understand
Prepare clear source material: approved product facts, tone guidance, audience needs, examples of good work and claims that require evidence. A weak brief becomes more visible when a tool reproduces it quickly across many outputs.
Keep a distinction between exploration and publication. AI can help generate alternatives, but someone needs to decide whether the idea is distinctive, accurate and appropriate. For product imagery, that also means checking whether the picture misrepresents what a customer will actually receive.
Design human review into the workflow
Set boundaries around actions that affect customers, budgets or live channels. A draft can be reviewed before sending; a recommendation can be assessed before changing spend. Record what the system did and give a named person responsibility for exceptions and unexpected results.
Begin in a mode where outputs can be compared with the existing process. Check a representative sample, including unusual inputs. Measure time saved together with correction time and error rate. An apparently fast workflow can be expensive if people must repeatedly repair it.
Build on foundations you already understand
Our Padel People work demonstrates the value of organised acquisition data and segmentation as locations open. It is an example of connected marketing foundations, not a claim that an autonomous AI agent produced the reported sign-up growth.
Those foundations make further automation more useful. Clear data, a recognisable brand and agreed measures give intelligent tools something dependable to work with. Our position is simple: harness AI to extend experienced creative and commercial thinking, with people accountable for what reaches the customer.
