General electrical installation and contracting works

Roxon Electrical’s core business is repair work for the insurance sector. We have franchises with a group of FTSE 100 PLC insurance companies who have around 6,500 customers in our “territory”. This gives us a steady workload delivered on a 24/7 basis for which we have a dedicated team of electricians. The insurance work underpins our busy solar programme and means we are busy all year round, even when the PV side is quiet.

We only do electrical work and serve an area which covers mainly Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Worcestershire, Somerset and Swindon. But wherever or whoever our customers are, we always focus on giving them a first-class service. As a proud member of the NICEIC, Roxon Electrical maintains an independently-checked standard of work ensuring strict adhesion to British Standard wiring regulations. In addition to standard guarantees, we provide a six-year insurance backed workmanship warranty on all part P installations and a 10 year workmanship warranty on solar installations.

Respected Solar Installers across the South

By having solar panels fitted to your home or outbuildings you can reduce your energy bills by *hundreds of pounds and reduce the carbon footprint of your home by over a tonne of carbon dioxide per year. A high quality, well installed solar PV system certified by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) will entitle you to be paid for the electricity you generate as part of the government feed in tariff scheme. You get paid for all of the energy you generate whether you use it all or not. Any surplus energy you generate is sold back to the grid, further increasing the return on your investment.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change recognises solar PV as one of the eight key renewable energy technologies that can help to create a clean, balanced UK energy mix. Versatile and scaleable, solar projects can be developed and installed very quickly and, unlike fossil fuels, produce clean, renewable energy with absolutely no waste or emissions. Put simply, solar PV is a simpler, cheaper, cleaner and all-round better energy solution. Most importantly, it is proving to be a very sustainable form of energy generation.

FAQ

To get the optimum performance and generate the most electricity from your solar PV system, your roof should ideally be south facing and pitched at an angle of around 30 degrees. The panels will still work if your roof faces another direction and can be fitted to flat roofs with a frame, but the power generated from the panels will be less. While there’s no need to worry about the gloomy UK weather as panels still generate significant amounts of power even on cloudy days, you do also need to consider whether there are any obstacles that could get in the way of light reaching the panels – such as trees, or maybe next door’s extension. And the more space you have for the panels to be fitted to, the better.
